CRTC Deferral Account Decision
In
Telecom Decision
CRTC 2010-637 released on Tuesday, 31 Aug 10, the Commission approved
the use of $306.3M of Bell Deferral Account money to provide DSL based broadband
(high speed) Internet service in the selected service areas.
This was subsequently changed to HSPA+ technology using data hubs.
Five five areas in the Algoma District were included in
the decision- namely SSM - Airport (Pointes areas), Wawa,
Goulais, Echo Bay, and
St. Joseph Island. Maps of the coverage areas are
shown below.

Deferral Account Areas - Public Information

The actual area of the designated Deferral Account coverage
shown in purple or red outline may vary during the actual implementation
process.
A major announcement from Bell about the actual implementation schedule is
expected around the end of July 2012. This information will be published as soon
